Tottenham 4 West Ham 0

A Dimitar Berbatov double helped Spurs to bounce back after two defeats to inflict West Ham's third successive 4-0 drubbing.

West Ham could have got off to a perfect start when Paul Robinson - who seems to still be struggling to rediscover his confidence - parried a tame Freddie Ljungberg shot.

Dean Ashton, Luis Boa Morte and Bobby Zamora all failed to force the ball into the net in the scramble that followed.

The Hammers were left to rue the missed opportunity as Dimitar Berbatov lost Anton Ferdinand on two occasions from Tom Huddlestone free kicks to head Spurs into a 2-0 lead inside 11 minutes.

Spurs dominated from then on and West Ham's day got worse when Boa Morte was sent off for a second bookable offence just before half-time after a rash tackle on Aaron Lennon.

And Spurs added gloss to the score with two late goals from substitutes Gilberto and Darren Bent, to give them a vital confidence boost ahead of their trip to Eindhoven.
