Carlos Tevez scored a last minute equaliser to rescue a point for United and deny an improving Tottenham side a rare win over the Premier League champions.
Spurs had taken a first half lead when Aaron Lennon, overlooked by Fabio Capello this week, beat Patrice Evra on the right and pulled the ball back for Dimitar Berbatov to finish.
Spurs new defensive recruits Jonathon Woodgate and in particular Alan Hutton, performed well to keep United at bay as Keane should have made the game safe when clean through only to shoot tamely at Van De Sar.
And Tevez nicked in ahead of Michael Dawson at the near post to score with the last kick of the game.
