A goal in each half from Juliano Belletti and Shaun Wright-Phillips delivered Chelsea a comfortable victory over London rivals Tottenham.
Former Barcelona defender Belletti opened the scoring with a superb strike past Radek Cerny after 19 minutes.
And the impressive Wright-Phillips made the game safe in the closing stages after good work from fellow England winger Joe Cole.
Nicolas Anelka, signed for Bolton for £15million, made his Chelsea debut from the bench in the second half.
Spurs have not beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for 18 years, and that run shows little sign of ending in the near future.
