Brazilian international left back Gilberto appears to be on his way to Tottenham.
The Hertha Berlin full back's contract runs out in the summer, and he has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
But now it appears that Spurs are in pole position to sign the 31 year old.
Spurs have been struggling on the left with long term injuries to Gareth Bale and Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
Former Cardiff defender Chris Gunter has already signed for the club during the transfer window, while Stewart Downing has also been linked with a move to White Hart Lane.
