TOTTENHAM 2 SUNDERLAND 0

Robbie Keane grabbed his 100th Tottenham goal to seal a 2-0 win over Sunderland at White Hart Lane.

The Irishman came on as late substitute for Jermain Defoe, who had been handed the captaincy for the day, and saw Craig Gordon fumble his tame shot into the net.

Aaron Lennon had opened the scoring from close range after just two minutes after some dreadful Sunderland defending.

Dimitar Berbatov should have added to Spurs lead during the first half, but Sunderland improved over the break and could have grabbed a point.

But Gordon's mistake enabled Robbie Keane to grab the headlines, and provide a much needed three points before the coming week's Cup games against Arsenal and Manchester United.
